If you are like us, you no longer carry around a wallet or a purse! This is because most payments can be made directly from your mobile phone. If you have used any debit, credit, or gift card to checkout on your iOS or Android device, this has been made possible due to revolutionary technology called "tokenization." In just a few years, swiping cards will be obsolete.

The tokenization process turns a physical and/or virtual debit card issued on the Hydrogen platform into a unique and secure tokenized payment method that is stored on a phone's native wallet. Hydrogen supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, and Samsung Pay wallets by default. We have done the contracting and integrations with these wallet providers, along with the integrations with Mastercard to make this work seamlessly.

Tokenization is included in the fee you pay Hydrogen. This includes the cost to tokenize the cards from the bank, networks, and processors, and the fee the wallet providers take on every transaction. Tokenized cards will have no logo in the Experiment and Expand Plans, and your logo and colors in the Transform Plan.
